NG conditioning skid

1. LNG is cooled gas, typically methane, that requires heating to become gaseous.
2. For large volumes, heated water baths support the process, with output regulated for safety.
3. Transported in trucks, it enters the system through a compressor, stored in tanks, and released under controlled pressure.
4. A water bath is used when ambient temperature drops to maintain suitable gas temperatures.

NG conditioning skid description

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), primarily consisting of methane, is a liquid obtained through cooling the gas. For small demand, it can be vaporized using air heat in an atmospheric air heater. For larger volumes, water bath heaters are employed to assist in the heating process, with the gas being released once its temperature approaches ambient conditions.

The flow in an LNG station starts with trucks delivering LNG to the terminal, where an LNG unloading compressor boosts pressure within the tank. The gas is then stored in an insulated low-temperature storage tank. Upon withdrawal, the pressure in the tank is increased through the self-boost system before opening the liquid outlet valve. This sends LNG to the vaporizer, where it undergoes pressure regulation, metering, and odorization before being distributed into the municipal gas grid.

When outdoor temperatures drop and the temperature of the gas from an air-heated vaporizer falls below 5°C, a water bath heater is often integrated at the vaporizer's outlet to heat the outgoing gas effectively.
